Fat and sassy we got back on the bikes staying on Hwy. 89 toward Jackson. The road winds its way through the Rocky Mountains and along the Snake River before opening up to Jackson. There was some construction being done to some of the roadway and riding short distance through loose gravel was part of it but, after an hour we were in Jackson and pulling up to the Alpine Motel on Jean Street.

Tom and Dale took a site seeing tour of Jackson, I am not sure what Jack Fry did, but Shari and I enjoyed the peaceful chatter of the bird’s and the mildness of the day. We suggested that we order a couple pizzas and soft drinks instead of going to a restaurant which the group said sounded good. Will we did have soft drinks, me a couple of soft beers and Shari Jack Fry and Dale participated in some blush wine as we set around in the open air eating pizza and solving world problems. A few more minutes up the road and we were making a left turn into Moose, WY. Here we stopped at a place called Dorman’s Chuck wagon. Here we were treated to sourdough pancakes, scrambled eggs sausage and coffee and set in a covered patio area surrounded by the picturesque scenes of the Grand Tetons you would ever hope to see. You could feel the ambiance. Our server, a foreign student named Zara, was from one of the former Soviet countries. Her speech made the area almost feel as we were in the Alps having our morning breakfast. ( Continue on page 10) |
